The New Testament exhortation to carry one another’s burdens is the foundation for this voluntary cost-sharing organization.
Participation is voluntary; individual members are responsible for payment of their medical bills. What Christian Healthcare Ministries provides is a network of committed Christians who share these medical costs. The generosity of CHM members comes from hearts that have been affected and changed by Jesus Christ.
In the last 15 years, members have helped each other by sharing more than $450 million in medical costs.
Christian Healthcare Ministries members select one of three levels at which to participate: Gold, Silver or Bronze. These monthly financial gifts are the shared funds used to meet medical costs.
A monthly Member Gift Form contains financial gift amount information and instructions on sending gifts to the CHM office. The funds are placed in a Member Escrow Account,* enabling CHM staff to process medical needs as efficiently and quickly as possible.
The Member Gift Form also facilitates member-to-member communication and prayer.
The CHM Guidelines explain what medical expenses are met through this cost-sharing, Bible-based program.
*Participants living in the state of Maryland are asked to send each monthly gift amount directly to another member. The name and address of the recipient is printed on the Member Gift Form.
*State regulations call for members living in Delaware to send each monthly gift amount to a Christian benevolence fund. The address is printed on the Member Gift Form.
