Meet your CHM staff: Brenda Cutright and Matthew Rowe
Brenda Cutright is part of the CHM Member Advocate department. She provides resources to enable members to negotiate discounts on their medical bills.
Where did you grow up? My parents raised my seven siblings and me and in Norton, Ohio. We lived on two acres with a garden, a collie and a beagle.
When did you become a Christian? My parents raised us to be churchgoers. It’s funny when I think about it now, but as a child I went to the altar nearly every Sunday to make sure I wouldn’t miss the rapture. Since then, my understanding of God has increased and my faith has grown deeper. I now have confidence that I am, and always will be, a child of the King.
Where did you work prior to joining the CHM staff? For 37 years I worked at Summa Health System in northeast Ohio—eventually serving in a supervisory position.
What’s your favorite thing about working at CHM? I love helping our members. I primarily help them negotiate discounts, but I’m also here to listen, talk, cry and pray with and for them.
What’s the greatest challenge you’ve overcome? My mother’s health declined and eventually she passed away from Parkinson’s disease. It’s so difficult watching someone you love suffer.
What three traits define you? Loyalty, honesty and reliability.
Matthew Rowe serves in CHM’s mail department and assists with daily mail distribution and the preparation of monthly Member Gift Form billing statements.
When did you become a Christian? I have believed in God for as long as I can remember, but I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart when I was 15 years old.
What’s your favorite movie line? “Wilson!” from the film Cast Away.
If you could be anyone for one day, who would it be? Arnold Schwarzenegger, because I like his personality and style—he’s funny and smart and is a capable leader.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? Hamburgers and french fries.
What is one thing about CHM that you want members to know? You’re always being thought of and prayed for—during and outside of work hours.
What motivates you? My co-workers inspire me to work toward excellence in everything I do.
What’s the craziest thing on your bucket list? Skydiving!
