Healing scriptures

Our health and wellbeing matter to God. Throughout the Bible, there are multiple examples where Jesus went about healing and delivering all who came to Him for relief. Today, He continually demonstrates compassion for those who are suffering, love for those who are in pain and freedom for those living in bondage.

Reading Scriptures on healing can impart life, hope, and comfort to our weary bodies, minds and hearts. As His beloved children, we can come to God with our requests and know that He hears and sympathizes with our pain.

Scriptures about healing the body

When our bodies are afflicted with sicknesses, healing Bible verses give us a new perspective. Our bodies are considered the temple of Holy Spirit and as such we are instructed to honor and take care of ourselves (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The healing prayers found throughout the Bible align with this hope and impart wellbeing and restoration to us when we face physical sickness.

Scriptures on healing the mind & the heart

Anxiety, despair and the pressure of everyday life can attempt to steal our peace and joy. However, we are not alone in our struggles. We have a Savior who sympathizes with our difficulties and understands the pain that exists in our minds, hearts and souls (Hebrews 4:15). Comforting Bible verses can lead us to find strength and recovery in Christ as we draw close to Him.

Regardless of whether we seek restoration for ourselves or prayers for healing for a friend or family member, God is ever present and willing to speak to us through His word. Scriptures for strength and comfort give us insight into Christ’s heart to heal and redeem us.

Additionally, by reading and focusing on healing verses we are presented with a new perspective of hope and peace. When we face distressing news or endure difficult circumstances, we can rest assured that God hears our cries and rescues us (Psalm 34:18).
